about

Written by Cristhopper Armenta & James Tristan Redding.

lyrics

It’s five o’clock and it’s already dark
But all the lights of Brooklyn fill up my heart
Get on the phone I better call my dad
Looks like I’m walkin’ ‘cause I can’t catch a cab

Hey! Yes, I said I’m coming home for Christmas
No, Dad I just need you to stay on the phone until I get home

Help Rosa cross the road at 6:15
Avoid the guidos hanging out in the street
So many puppies in the neighborhood (uh oh)
I stepped in something and it doesn’t smell good

So much I love here and so much I don’t
Rats in the gutter streets paved with gold
Every day in this crazy city
Gets me wondering how long I’ll be here

It’s still the nicest place I can afford
The smell of Golden Dragon Kitchen next door
I used to love it back in twenty-ten
(Along with Pitbull, and Jeggings, and Ethan…oh gosh)
I hardly recognize the girl I was then

So much I love here and so much I don’t
Waking up hopeful and winding up broke
Every day in this crazy city
Gets me wondering how much is too much
